Boo-le-Bark on Boulevard 2018: 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 14, rain or shine.

Are you ready for more Halloween costume dog parade fun? We are!

Athenspets and members of the Athens community are getting the pups back together for Athens’ third Boo-le-Bark on the Boulevard.

The parade will be held on Sunday, Oct. 14, rain or shine, beginning at 4 p.m., when 150 registered dogs and their handlers plus friends, families, and local personalities will wind through the Boulevard neighborhood. The festivities will continue at Jittery Joe’s Roaster, where parade participants and spectators will meet for food, music, fun and lots of photos.

We have added a new component this year for all you creative folks: a canine costume contest! The costume contest will take place immediately before the parade. Registration for the parade is $20; to enter the costume contest is an additional $10.

Last year’s parade was a great success, with estimates of up to 1000 in attendance, including spectators with their own costumed dogs. Flagpole magazine, Athens Banner-Herald and The Red & Black each gave the parade extensive coverage. Also, check out our video!

Boo-le-Bark is an opportunity for our community to come together over a shared love of dogs in costumes.  Please no political or other divisive displays during the parade or Canine Carnival. Thanks!
